Coronavirus: 21,863 new cases, 56 deaths and 359 intubated

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,324 patients have been discharged from the ICU

Greek authorities announced that the new laboratory-confirmed cases of the coronavirus recorded in the last 24 hours are 21,863, of which 25 were identified after checks at the country’s entry points. The total number of cases amounts to 2,583,366 (daily change + 0.9%), of which 49.4% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 196 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 1,077 are related to an already known case.

The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 56, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 26,424 deaths have been recorded. 95.2% had an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 359 (64.3% men). Their median age is 68 years. 88.6% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 237 (66.02%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 122 (33.98%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,324 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
