Coronavirus Greece – 21,260 new cases, 49 dead and 361 intubated

4,339 patients have been discharged from the ICU

Greek authorities announced on Friday that the new laboratory-confirmed cases of Covid recorded in the last 24 hours are 21,260, of which 20 were identified after checks at the country’s entry points. The total number of cases is 2,604,626 (daily change + 0.8%), of which 49.4% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 199 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 1,156 are related to an already known case. Geographically, 6,529 cases were detected in Attica, 2,195 in Thessaloniki, 1,991 in Crete (1,092 in Heraklion), and 1,004 in Achaia.

There are 49 new deaths of patients with Covid, while a total of 26,473 deaths have been recorded since the beginning of the pandemic 95.2% had an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 361 (64.0% men). Their median age is 68 years. 89.2% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 239 (66.2%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 122 (33.8%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,339 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
