Police arrested three Pakistani men in Larissa, central Greece after they allegedly tried to gangrape a woman.

The suspects illegally leased a room in the apartment to a couple of foreigners, an Afghan man and his Bulgarian partner where they attempted to gang-rape the woman.

The woman fought them off managed to break free and escape the apartment and reported the incident to the police.

The perpetrators, aged 35, 25 and 28, persuaded a 43-year-old Afghan and his 40-year-old Bulgarian partner to sublet a room in the ground floor apartment where they live together. But on Tuesday night, while the Afghan was at work, they attacked the 40-year-old, forcibly pinned her down, stripped her naked, and tried to rape her!

The woman resisted and forced the would-be rapists to abandon their plans. Shortly afterward, she reported what had happened and the three Pakistanis were arrested by police. The 43-year-old Afghan man was also accused of facilitating the residence of illegal aliens in Greece and taken to the Larissa District Court Prosecutor. However, he was released and will be tried today.

The Pakistanis, who do not have legal documents for their stay in Greece, have been prosecuted for attempted rape and remain in custody until they are taken to an interrogator to present their case.
