My big fat Greek baptism – Zach Galifianakis becomes a godfather in Crete (photos)

He rarely visits Greece

Newsroom June 27 05:40

Hollywood star Zach Galifianakis was in Crete where he became a godfather, according to neakriti. The religious ceremony took place on Sunday, June 26, at the Church of Prophet Elias in Chania, where the famous comedian baptised little Katerina, daughter of Arji and his first cousin Nikolaos Galifianakis.

The sacrament was performed in the Prophet Elias in Chania, while the baptism was preceded by the wedding of the happy parents.

Joy and smiles abounded, as did the wishes to little Katerina’s family, but also to the happy godfather.

Zach Galifianakis is a second-generation Greek on his father’s side, originally from Heraklion, Crete.

Until recently, he lived in Los Angeles but decided with his family to move to Canada and live in a farmhouse.

Zach rarely visits Greece, but he visited Crete for the first time when he was fourteen years old and again a few years ago.
