PM Mitsotakis in Parliament on the Education Bill – (video)

The PM condemned the attack on the radio station Real FM

Newsroom July 13 01:06

PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis defended his government’s actions and policies in the Education sector before Parliament.

His presence today in the Plenary Session of the Parliament, where Education Minister Niki Kerameos’s bill will be introduced, takes on new context after the former Minister of State and current SYRIZA Member of Parliament Christoforos Bernardakis equated the Minister of Education with the defendant for the murder of at least one child Roula Pispirigou.

The PM stressed that the new Bill will provide thousands of young people the opportunity to enjoy the services of the new universities, the new horizons. “Acquiring knowledge and improving the probability of good occupational chances in harmony with market needs.”

“Our priorities remain non-negotiable. Access to upgraded knowledge for all Greek children. Equality is not the equation downwards but the same possibilities for all people. Caring about young people doesn’t mean patting their ears to send them to schools with no tomorrow. Caring means arming the minds and capabilities of young people to seize the opportunities of tomorrow based on real needs. Otherwise, false promises form a false future. We expand the power of the public university by opening its actions to the international field.”

The PM commented on the attack against the radio station Real FM today, expressing his outrage at the “cowardly attack”. “The state will do whatever it takes to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice. The freedom of the press in our country is neither silenced nor limited by such acts of terrorism.”
