A shocking piece of news that, disturbingly, tends to become common and usual, came from Austria.
“He lived among us: FBI busts Islamist bomb builders (15),” translated from “Er lebte mitten unter uns: FBI lässt islamistischen Bombenbauer (15) auffliegen,” Exxpress, July 12, 2022 (thanks to Medforth):
He shared Islamic State execution videos, despised our rule of law and was already tinkering with a bomb. Now a 15-year-old Chechen is in custody in Salzburg because: the student is in acute danger of committing a crime.
In the prison in Salzburg’s Puch-Urstein, a 15-year-old student is being held in custody on charges of involvement in a terrorist organization. As the “Salzburger Nachrichten” reported on Tuesday, the Chechen, who was born in Salzburg and lives here, is said to have shared propaganda and execution videos of the Islamic terrorist militia “Islamic State” (IS) on various internet platforms from October 2020 to June 2022
Instructions for explosive devices on the phone
He is also suspected of having shared Islamist praise and battle songs for the “holy war” against the infidels and uploaded some of them to his user account. In chats on a messenger app, the Chechen also expressed his desire to join IS himself. Last but not least, PDF documents showing how an explosive device is made were found on the young person’s cell phone.
FBI informed Salzburg authorities
According to the “Salzburger Nachrichten”, the investigators tracked down the boy through tips from the American FBI. US federal police officers may have noticed the user from Austria as part of a worldwide Internet monitoring for radical Islamist content. The pre-trial detention of the student was imposed by the regional court because of the risk of escaping and committing a crime. According to the judge’s decision at the time, it could not be replaced by more lenient means as long as the accused did not “renounce his extremist views.”
