Greek champions Olympiakos are reportedly on the verge of acquiring Colombian football star James Rodriguez who is in Greece to finalise the deal with the Reds. The Colombian player, who currently plays for Al-Rayyan SC in Qatar, will put on the red and white jersey next year and will once again play alongside his former Real Madrid team-mate, Marcelo.
“James Rodríguez at Olympiakos! The Colombian is flying today (Wednesday) to Greece for medical examinations and there is a verbal agreement for a loan,” Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano wrote.
According to the report, the former Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich footballer is already in Greece to sign the deal.
A few hours before the end of the transfer period, Olympiacos is one step away from detonating a second huge “bomb” after Marcelo’s.
The Reds are said to have reached an agreement with Al Rayyan for the player’s loan, with the Qatari club covering part of his salary to make this summer’s new transfer blockbuster a reality.
The above is not confirmed by the Piraeus club, but neither is it denied.
