The good weather conditions that will prevail across the country on Friday will give way from the evening to the severe weather front Eva that will affect the country over the weekend.
The Emergency Weather Bulletin issued yesterday by the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (HNMS) is being updated according to the latest forecast.
A severe weather system named “EVA” created a barometric low in northern Italy on Friday, which will move
southeast and will cause a deterioration of weather across most of the country. From Saturday morning (05-11-2022) until the evening hours of Sunday (06-11-2022) dangerous weather phenomena will occur in regions, the main characteristics of which will be high levels of rain, locally high velocities, and high frequency of lightning.
In more detail:
On Saturday (05-11-2022) the intense and in places dangerous weather phenomena will affect:
a) from the morning of the northern Ionian and Epirus,
b) from noon the southern Ionian, the western Sterea, and the western
Peloponnese,
c) from the evening the phenomena will extend to eastern
Peloponnese, central Sterea, eastern Thessaly, western
and central Macedonia and,
d) during the night eastern Sterea (including Attica), all of Thessaly, and Evia.
Attica will be affected intermittently from the evening hours of Saturday (05-11-2022) until noon on Sunday (06-11-2022).
On Sunday (06-11-2022) heavy rains and storms will occur:
a) until noon in the Ionian,
b) until the afternoon in the mainland (except Thrace),
c) from the morning hours in the Cyclades, Crete, and the Sporades
and
d) from noon in the Dodecanese
It should be noted that the phenomena will occur in places particularly intense in western and central Macedonia, eastern Thessaly, and the Sporades.
