Six dog fights between Greek and Turkish fighter jets, as Turkey violates Greek airspace 113 times!

Of the 113 violations, 39 were by F-16s, and the remaining 74 were by UAVs

Turkish violations of Greek national airspace reached a new crescendo after the Turkish Air Force flew illegally over the Aegean airspace today, Tuesday (15/11) a staggering 113 times.

Twelve Turkish F-16 fighter jets and three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) carried out 113 illegal missions which resulted in 6 dog fights with Greek fighters.

Of the 113 violations, 39 were by F-16s, and the remaining 74 were by UAVs. One of the above violations was the overflight performed by a pair of Turkish F-16 fighter jets in Kinaro.

Specifically, the Turkish aircraft entered the Athens FIR, without filing a flight plan, violated the national airspace, and flew, at 10:26, over Kinaro at 33.000 feet.

Turkish F-16s and jets also committed 15 air traffic infringements in the Athens FIR.

As reported by the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), in all cases the invading aircraft were identified and intercepted, in accordance with international rules, according to standard practice.
