NGO Ark of the World scandal – Man alleges Father Antonios asked a girl to get an abortion

The man claimed Father Antonios left the girl in isolation

Newsroom November 22 09:18

The revelations of what was happening in the NGO Ark of the World (Kivotos Tou Kosmou) are taking the form of an avalanche, following the testimony of the 19-year-old who exposed the role of Father Antonios in sexual and physical abuse in the children’s charity refuge. In the latest allegation, a 20-year-old man spoke to MEGA Channel and claimed, among other things, that Father Antonios had asked an inmate who was pregnant to proceed with an abortion.

As the man said about the girl, who was in isolation for 4 to 5 months, “she was in a room and they forbade her to communicate with any person. As soon as they realised that her belly was swollen, they took her to the hospital to see what was wrong with her and she was pregnant, and then Father Antonios told her to have an abortion.”

Konstantinos, now 20 years old, was an inmate in the “Ark of the World” facilities from the age of 11, first in Kolonos and then in Chios. “I have seen children being beaten, I have seen two or three educators. They were not pedagogues, they knew Father Antonios since they were small children and he then suggested that they work as pedagogues. They were his friends, they had known each other since they used to play basketball,” the 20-year-old initially said.

According to him, “I was taken by force, not by my will. They locked us in a room for a week, then gave us water and bread. When I was in Chios and I had finished the 2nd Lyceum they told me “you will not finish it and you will work at EPOS. You are not a good student, what do you want school for? Come and work on it like a worker”.

Relatives of a child housed in the “The Kivotos” structure in Kalamata who had filed a complaint since January 2021 also spoke to SKAI TV about his ordeals.
