Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is currently holding a press conference with the local media of Achaia.
The first question was about the development plan for Patras, with the prime minister answering that “I just came from a meeting where we presented our vision for western Greece. It is a coherent plan with more than 80 projects, some that are launched from the past and others that have a social dimension and make up our narrative of a Patras that deserves to be the western gateway of Greece to Europe”.
“You asked me if the citizens believe that what we announced will happen? I would invite them to go to the open construction site of Patras-Pyrgos to compare the past with the present in a project in which contract concessions were given to serve other interests.”
“The government is proud of the implementation of its announcements and where we find mistakes we correct them” added the prime minister.
I believe that the coming years will be years of very dynamic development for the city of Patras, concluded the prime minister.
The prime minister was then asked about the wiretapping issue and replied that “the issue of communications security is very important. With great courage I took on the responsibilities of government, we moved forward with changes of persons and tabled a legislative proposal that recognizes long-standing failures to remedy them. In this process, we are open to any change that will improve it.”
“We are the first country to ban the sale, use, and use of such malware and make its use a felony again. We intervene with all the activities we are allowed. This issue of whether I am safe when I communicate often concerns us in contact with our counterparts and this concerns all the leaders of the world, we take measures and recognize that technology may surpass us” he added and concluded on this issue:
“I heard insinuations that the predator influenced the internal party elections in ND in 2016, that it detected the family of Mr. Pierrakakis, that it photographed Mr. Tsipras on the yacht. These are scams and science fiction scenarios and those who peddle them should be more careful. Anyone with evidence should take it to justice. Only it can judge what is accurate and what is not, but I cannot and should not know the investigation, but if some people think they have something to contribute, they should go to justice.”
