Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis reportedly intervened at the European Council in Brussels underlining that the oil price ceiling has not yet been implemented despite the mandate for laying down its framework being passed in October.
According to the same sources, he made it clear that the issue must be closed on Monday at the Council of Energy Ministers, while he called for the immediate inclusion in the text of the conclusions of a relevant clause on the need to urgently finalize the issue on the 19 December, something which was finally done.
During the debate on transatlantic relations that preceded it and in particular on the American Inflation Reduction Act, Kyriakos Mitsotakis pointed out the need for Europe to move in a coordinated manner and support European businesses, putting money on the table and strengthening the RepowerEU.
