Two people died in Paris on Friday, according to Le Parisien, after shootings in the 10th district of the French capital. The man who opened fire has been arrested but his motive remains unknown.
Information about his age is confused, with other French media referring to a man in his 60s and others in his 70s. The initial reports speak of five injured, two of them in serious condition.
The same reports state that the shooting incident took place near a Kurdish cultural centre.
An eyewitness who spoke to Agence France-Presse spoke of “seven or eight shots”. “Panic prevailed, we locked ourselves in our houses” added the same witness.
