An incredible story unfolded in Rukani in the municipality of Heraklion, where a dog proved that the protective instinct knows no bounds.

The animal travelled about a kilometre in search of help to save her puppy, which was in danger of drowning in a local reservoir. According to a testimony reported by the local website cretalive, the incident occurred when he was driving his car on a rural road.

Suddenly, he saw a little dog climb onto the hood of his vehicle in an unexpected move that caught him off guard. The animal refused to move away, as if trying to get his attention and convey an urgent message.

When it finally got off the hood, it began to head for a dirt road leading to a village reservoir. All along the way, the dog stopped frequently and looked back, as if to confirm that the driver was following her.

Upon reaching the spot, the driver spotted a puppy struggling to hold on to the surface of the water. Wasting no time, he used a curling iron and managed to pull it out, ending an adventure that could have had a tragic outcome.
