The ruling party New Democracy (ND) appears to be moving towards an absolute majority, which, under the current circumstances, it can conquer in the repeat ballot, which will be implemented under the enhanced proportional voting system.
According to the findings of a new large poll, carried out on behalf of “THEMA” by pollster Marc, which for the first time captured the voting intention of the citizens in both polls that will likely be held in the near future, the ruling party is already recording from the first ballot of the simple proportional a strong lead in the intention to vote, equal to the difference (8.35%) that separated the ND from SYRIZA in the July 2019 elections.
In fact, the “blue” poll lead, which in the reduction of the valid votes in the first contest is estimated at 7.7 percentage points, in the event of a repeat election, which will be caused due to the impossibility of forming a sustainable government coalition, rises to nine points – a fact, which leads to the conclusion that the final difference between the two parties vying for power is very likely to end up in double digits.
