To the Plenitude of the Mother Church of Constantinople in Scandinavia, friends and supporters of the Holy Metropolis of Sweden

My beloved brethren,

ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ ΑΝΕΣΤΗ – CHRIST IS RISEN!

I am writing today to extend an invitation to all of you to join us on the feast of the St. George Cathedral in Stockholm, on April 23, 2023 (the Sunday of St. Thomas).

On the evening of Saturday April 22nd at 6 p.m., Great Festal Vespers will be celebrated on site at the church (Birger Jarlsgatan 92, 11420 Stockholm).

On Sunday morning April 23rd, the office of Matins will commence at 9 a.m., followed by the festal archieratical Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. The hymns of the services will be chanted by the head chanter of the Annunciation of the Theotokos Metropolitan Church in Oslo Mr. Panagiotis Katsivalis and the members of the Byzantine choir of our Cathedral in Stockholm.

Afterwards, there will be a concert featuring ecclesiastical and religious-inspired music performed by the Cathedral Youth’s musical ensemble.

Your participation at the aforementioned events will serve as an honor and pleasure for us all, and an opportunity to glorify God’s holy name and ask for the protection of our patron saint, the great martyr St. George the Trophy-Bearer, whose intercessions I call upon on behalf of all of you and your families.
