Naked man in Vatican’s Holy Altar in St. Peter’s Cathedral (photo)

The man was protesting the war in Ukraine

The Vatican guard was on alert on Thursday when a naked man climbed the Holy Altar of St. Peter.

The incident, as reported by the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, took place shortly before the closing of the church of Saint Peter.

The man’s act was also recorded in a video posted on Telegram with the caption “welcome to the Favela”.

The reaction of the vicars and the policemen who first dressed the man and then arrested him was immediate.

According to Italian media, the man who is facing serious psychological problems and who allegedly justified his act by saying that he suffered at the sight of dead children from Ukraine from the bombings of Russia.
