Barack Obama is in Athens and will meet with the 105 fellows of the Obama Leaders program and participate in the Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s Mental Health Conference.

The meeting will take place without the presence of the public and marks the completion of the six-month journey of the participants of the program for 2023. Barack Obama will talk with them about their actions in the direction of development and acceleration of positive and lasting change in their communities.

Among the 105 scholars of 2023, who come from 75 countries, is a Greek woman, Elpida Kokkota, founder and CEO of the non-profit organization “Mexoxo”, which aims to strengthen female entrepreneurship.

The six-month Obama Foundation Leaders program recognises individuals working in the public and private sectors and in civil society who have demonstrated work in advancing the common good by emphasising the shared values and ethical leadership that formed Barack’s vision and Michelle Obama.
