Officials in New York got called on reports of a “gruesome discovery” behind a Burger King.
On June 29, Suffolk County Police called Suffolk County’s Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals after finding the remains of two goats in Farmingdale, according to a post on Facebook by SPCA.
The decapitated goats were found in black plastic bags behind a Burger King, officials said.
SPCA did not specify but said other items were found that would suggest the goats were part of a “ritualistic sacrifice.”
The Suffolk County SPCA is offering a $2,000 reward to anyone with information leading to an arrest on animal cruelty charges, according to the post.
The public is asked to call 631-382-7722 with any information, officials said.
Farmingdale is a village on Long Island, about 40 miles east of New York City.
