From Monday 17 to Friday 21 July and in the context of the overall planning of the General Staff of the Hellenic Armed Forces in terms of military cooperation actions between Greece and the United States, a co-training in Special Operations was held in the wider area of Stefanovikeio Volos in central Greece.

The co-training was attended by personnel and assets of the newly established Special Warfare Command (SOC) of the General Staff and the 1st Army Aviation Brigade (1st AAF Brigade) as follows:

– Personnel of 32 Marine Brigade (32 Marine Brigade Combat Team).

– 1 AH-64A helicopter and 1 AH-64D helicopter.

From the US side, in the framework of the training deployment of the 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade (3rd CAB) elements at Stefanovikio and the updated Mutual Defence Cooperation Agreement (MDCA) between Greece and the USA, 5 UH-60 Black Hawk E/PS participated.

During the period, training flights of E/As in high-altitude mountainous environments combined with day and night airborne operations, and training in rappel shooting by E/As contributed to the promotion of the level of operational readiness, combat capability, and exchange of know-how in the planning and execution of Special Operations between the participants, highlighting the long-standing cooperation between the two countries in the field of Special Warfare.
