Miltos Tentoglou is World champion with 8.52m in the last jump

He won the gold and left Pinnock second with 8.50m

Newsroom August 24 10:30

Miltos Tentoglou wrote history in Budapest.

With a jump of 8.52m in his sixth and final attempt in the long finals at the World Championships in Budapest, the Greek athlete won the only medal missing from his collection, the gold!

The 25-year-old Greek left behind him in the last jump Wayne Pinnock who stayed at 8.50m.

Tentoglou started the race with 8.50m but the Jamaican left him 2nd throughout the race after he also did 8.50m and had a better 2nd jump (8.40m).
