Revealing photos from the fire in Avlonas – Two arrests for arson

Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Kikilias warned the law will come down heavy on the arsonists

Newsroom August 24 01:53

Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Vassilis Kikilias sent a strong warning in a statement on the arson attempts in the area of Vlora, Avlona.

Kikilias spoke of nine arson attempts in the area of Vlora.

“Some vagrant arsonists are setting fires, endangering forests, property, and, above all, human lives,” he said.

A new alarm was raised in the Fire Department for a fire in Vlora, at a time when early in the morning there are constantly outbreaks in that area, with the Fire Department rushing to the scene to bring them under control.

The authorities have even made two arrests for attempted arson.

Below are two photos of the Vlora fire, half an hour apart. The first photo was taken at 12:05 and the second at 12:35, showing how quickly – within 30 minutes – the flames spread.
