The problems and damages that the bad weather Daniel has created since dawn on the coastal front of Pelion and specifically in the coastal village of Agios Ioannis are huge.
The volume of water that has fallen in the area is so great that even the cars that were parked in the central parking lot of the area were swept away into the sea.

Volos, but also the wider regions of Magnesia and Sporades, are going through very difficult times as the focus of bad weather “Daniel” has been over the area for several hours now, with meteorologists estimating that this situation will continue for the next several hours.
During the last 24 hours 200 tons of water per hectare have fallen in Volos, 300 in Portaria and 516 in Zagora Pelion with the meteorologist of ERT, Panagiotis Yiannopoulos, commenting that “I don’t remember another time having in 24 hours 500 milimeters of rain and it will rain intensely for many more hours!”.
Shortly after 9:30 a.m., in fact, a 112 Emergency Message was sent to the residents of Volos to drastically limit travel due to the ongoing bad weather, while a similar message was also sent to Thessaloniki.
