Sex sells…and sex toys sell even more as it seems that more and more erotic aids are appearing on the market. Couples are now experimenting with their sex lives, with what we would describe as “classic” aids remaining high on the list of consumer preferences.
The variety of sex toys chosen by couples is greater than we could imagine, with the classic vibrator holding the first place in our country, according to a survey by shopflix.gr.
But what do Greeks prefer when it comes to sex toys? According to the data, the first place in the preferences of the Greeks is vibrators, a mile ahead from the second place that goes to fetish aids. The top five are completed by sex dolls, anal toys, and dildos.
Both men and women have an equal interest in sex toys in the population as a whole. Where differences are observed is in interest by age group, although the preference does not change much by age group.
Around 1 in 5 users have looked for or bought a sex toy at least once in the last 12 months. The percentage is slightly higher in 18-24 (23%) and gradually decreases by age group to 17% and 18% in 45-54 and 55-64 respectively.
The interesting thing here, which raises other questions, is that the majority of 18-24-year-olds have not yet become independent from their parents’ homes.
However, men buy more sex toys between the ages of 18-24 with women reaching the same percentage at 25-34 and surpassing men from 35 to 44.
Which sex toys consumers in Greece buy depending on the city they live in
Vibrators are the top choice on every list and city, with Athens closing the top 3 with sex dolls and fetishists and Thessaloniki with sex dolls and dildos. In Patras, strap-ons appear in 2nd place and the trio of fetishists closes the list, while erection rings appear for the first time in the list and in 4th place. This is an erotic toy that men wear on their penis and holds back the blood flow in order to achieve a longer erection and prolonged intercourse.
