The late pilot Epaminondas Costeas, who was killed in the crash of the training aircraft T-2E Buckeye northwest of the Kalamata airport, on the morning of December 27, was buried by relatives and friends at the funeral that took place in the holy church of the Dormition of the Virgin, in Megali Mantineia of the Municipality of West Mani.
After the funeral procession was completed, his wife followed, devastated, together with close relatives, the procession that carried the body to the burial site.
The HAF officer is survived by his two children and his wife who were eyewitnesses to the tragedy.
The funeral was attended by the Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias, the chief of the National Defence General Staff (NDGS) Konstantinos Floros.
