Youtuber “Hayate” arrested for abusing disabled individuals in live broadcasts

This arrest follows a similar case in Keratsini last November

Newsroom February 7 09:20

Arrested youtuber Hayate, accused of exploiting disabled individuals in live social media broadcasts, has been apprehended by the National Police.

The 35-year-old, identified as Hayate, allegedly maintained a social media profile dedicated to live-streaming abusive behavior towards people with mental disabilities, all for illicit financial gain.

In a statement issued by the State Security Subdivision of the Attica Security Directorate, the arrest was made on February 6, 2024, in Attica.

Hayate faces charges of human trafficking and physical harm against vulnerable individuals, with additional charges under anti-discrimination laws due to the victims’ disabilities.

The accused, operating under a pseudonym, reportedly conducted these abusive broadcasts since January 2023.
