An alarm was raised earlier in Parliament after a call about a bomb was made to ANT1 TV station at 18:30.

The alarm, however, ended around 19:30 as no suspicious object was found and the call thus turned out to be a hoax.

The woman who called the TV station said that a bomb would explode in the parliament in 45 minutes (19:15).

According to reports, no other call had been made elsewhere, and the woman on the phone line did not say anything more specific.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department rushed to the scene.

For safety reasons, the metro did not stop earlier at Syntagma station.
