Mr. Mitsotakis spoke about the excellent bilateral relations between Greece and India, stating that the two countries share the same values and are closer than ever.
“You are an example for the world that needs to be known,” he said, referring to India, highlighting its strong economic growth, solidarity, and prosperity, among other things.
“Today, India is a global power, a leading player,” he added, emphasizing that strengthening EU-India relations should be a primary goal for Europe and stating that it is a central goal for Greece.
He also mentioned that the two countries share many similarities and values, and he referred to reforms.
Mr. Mitsotakis pointed out that Greece has one of the highest growth rates in the eurozone and the fastest debt reduction as a percentage of GDP, while it is characterized as the country of the year.
“Today, I am proud to speak to you about a different Greece,” he noted.
He also talked about Greek investments in India and Indian investments in Greece, such as the one in the new airport in Kastelli, Crete.
“We have even more to do by 2030,” said Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
