France: 72 firearms and over 3,000 cartridges seized from Alain Delon’s house

Statements by his daughter on the... "Wild West" in Alain Delon's home, coupled with his fragile health, prompted the search of his home

Newsroom February 27 04:51

French police have seized 72 firearms and more than 3,000 cartridges from Alain Delon’s home in Duchy, central France, according to a statement from the Montargis prosecutor’s office on Tuesday.

The same briefing referred to shooting weapons, mostly category A and B, as well as collectible weapons.

In fact, preliminary investigations showed that the well-known actor “did not have any authorisation allowing him to possess a firearm”.

With these facts, the investigation continues, among other things, on the charge of “illegal acquisition and possession of category A, B and C weapons”.

Investigators at the 88-year-old actor’s property also found the existence of a firing range.

This development comes after the opening of another prosecution investigation into Alain Delon’s strained relationship with his children.

This context, coupled with concerns about the actor’s fragile health, prompted the prosecution, according to Le Parisien, to examine in detail the issue of the French actor’s possession of firearms.

It is worth noting that, in a recent interview with Elle, Anouska Delon, the actor’s daughter, explained that she “always goes with her bodyguard” to her father’s house because of his passion for guns, adding that he maintains “quite a large collection”. Anushka Delon also added that her siblings, when they are in Ducey, “walk around the house armed”, believing they are “in the Wild West”.

According to Le Parisien, this testimony prompted the Montargis prosecutor to open a new investigation, which resulted in the seizure of Alain Delon’s “arsenal”.
