A fine of €742,000 on the frozen vegetable company “AINOS SA”

Continuous and daily battle to combat the fight against inexactness and obscenity, said Minister of Development Kostas Skrekas

By decision of the Minister of Development, Kostas Skrekas imposed a fine of 742,000 euros, the company of frozen vegetables “AINOS SA”, for violation of Article 54 of Law. 5045/29-07-2023 regarding the restriction of unfair profitability, following checks carried out by the Interdepartmental Market Control Unit.

Specifically, after conducting thorough checks on 72 product codes (1/7/2023 to 30/9/2023), it was found that in 50 codes the company was earning a higher gross profit margin than that required by the relevant legislation.

The Minister of Development, Kostas Skrekas, said:

“Controls are constant, will be intensified and where provided for by the legislation, hefty fines will be imposed.
