“Captain Hawk – Ghosts of the Sea” is the new Heavy Metal Opera (photos)

Newsroom March 13 02:46

Four years after the release of their collaboration “Goditha – The Rock Opera,” the duo from Athens returns with a cinematic yet entirely epic power metal experience.

“Captain Hawk: Ghosts of the Sea” is the new metal opera written by Elina Englezou and performed, orchestrated, mixed and produced by Bob Katsionis.

Adorned with magnificent vocals and dynamic performances by a very special cast consisting of some of the best metal singers in Greece. It is also accompanied by a full 4-voice choir that underscores everything with volume and depth.

The producer Bob Katsionis says: “And just when I thought Elina Englezou was taking a break after the stressful period she went through with the recordings and the release of her debut album ‘Goditha’, I received an envelope labeled ‘Captain Hawk’ containing some demos. I pressed play, and in less than 10 minutes, I called her and asked: ‘What is this you sent me? Your new album? When do we start?’ One reason I admire her, beyond her skill as a songwriter and her continuous flow of inspiration, is her persistence. No one can tell this woman ‘you can’t do this, you can’t do that.’ Once again, she wrote everything herself, gathered, orchestrated, and recorded all these amazing singers, wrote all the choral parts, created the artwork, the videos, the booklet and the album design. And here we are today with our second pirate child ready to set sail”.
