Weather: With good weather for the next three days

How we will watch the parade

Newsroom March 22 10:53

The weather is expected to be good over the three-day period of March 25th in most parts of the country, with scattered clouds at intervals. Local showers are forecast only in the western and northeastern regions, according to meteorologists. The excursion of travelers will begin today with mostly clear weather and scattered clouds occasionally becoming dense, with temperatures reaching 18 to 19 degrees Celsius in several areas.

In his forecast, Yiannis Kallianos stated that the weather will be very mild and pleasant over the March 25th weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, we expect only a few local showers in Western Greece, while the rest of the country will experience wonderful weather. Sunday’s weather will be very good overall, with the exception of some showers again in Western Greece, while on Monday, March 25th, the weather seems generally good, but areas of concern are the far west and far east of the country, specifically western Peloponnese, western Central Greece, and Thrace. Regarding winds, he mentioned a southwest flow of 5-6 Beaufort in most areas, possibly reaching 7 locally in the Southern Aegean. Temperatures will rise to the twenties starting from Monday, possibly reaching 23-24 degrees Celsius by Tuesday.

According to the forecast by ERT meteorologist Panagiotis Giannopoulos, until Saturday morning, there will be localized showers in central and southern regions (Epirus, Peloponnese, Sterea, possibly some showers late at night towards Eleusis). Further improvement is expected on Sunday. Monday, the eve of March 25th, is predicted to have sunnier weather in the eastern and southern regions, while local showers are expected mainly in the west and fewer in the north. Temperatures will remain around 18 to 20 degrees Celsius at noon, and winds will not pose any issues for maritime travel.

Meteorologist from ANT1, Tasos Arniakos, mentioned that we will have showers over the March 25th weekend with a “Π” type weather on Monday, without affecting the parades in major cities.

The weekend weather has also been predicted to be good by Thodoris Kolydas, who also mentioned a “Π” type weather. According to the Director of EMY, the weather will improve over the weekend, with temperatures rising mainly on Sunday, when winds will turn to southerlies. On the National Day, we will have rain in the west, north, and eastern Aegean (“Π” type weather), while other areas will have only local cloudiness.

According to Sakis Arnaoutoglou’s forecast, on Monday, March 25th, “a new instability will quickly pass, affecting northern Greece and the west of the country. Thus, local storms are expected in the morning in the Ionian, Epirus, and the west of Thessaly and Sterea. However, the weather will clear up everywhere in the afternoon, with temperatures reaching 20 to 22 degrees Celsius in central areas.

Few clouds are expected throughout the country, which during the warm hours of the day in the Ionian, inland areas, and Crete will increase. Showers or occasional rain and a few sporadic thunderstorms will occur mainly in mountainous areas of Epirus, Sterea, Thessaly, and the Peloponnese, and secondarily in areas of Macedonia and the Ionian Islands. Visibility in central and northern areas will be locally restricted during the night and early morning.

Temperatures will range from -2 to 13 degrees Celsius in Western Macedonia, from 1 to 14-16 in the rest of Northern Greece, from 3 to 20 in Epirus, from 3 to 18-19 in Thessaly, from 5 to 18-20 in the rest of the mainland, from 6 to 18 in the Ionian Islands, from 5 to 15-16 in the islands of the Northern and Northeastern Aegean, and from 7 to 18-19 in the rest of the Aegean islands and Crete.

Winds in the Aegean will blow from northeasterly directions with intensities of 4-5 Beaufort, but in the Dodecanese, northwesterly winds will prevail with intensities of up to 6 Beaufort and possibly locally 7 Beaufort. In the Ionian, northwesterly winds with intensities of up to 4 Beaufort will blow.
