The mutual willingness to strengthen bilateral relations, with an emphasis on economic and trade cooperation, was highlighted during the meeting between the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau.

Mr. Mitsotakis emphasized the prospects of the Greek economy and the business-friendly environment towards investments, which has already attracted significant Canadian investments in Greece, while adding that there is further room for improvement.

The two Prime Ministers also referred to the significant presence of Greek businesses in Canada, as well as the great potential that can be developed in the tourism sector between the two countries.

The challenge of climate change and the handling of extreme weather phenomena were also discussed.

Particular emphasis was given during the meeting on the need for coordination, readiness, and training to address wildfires, as well as major wildfires.
