Iranian media outlets, on their part, reported that “Hossein Akbari, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Damascus, and his family were unharmed by the Israeli attack.”

The incident occurred a few days after the Observatory reported Israeli strikes that killed 53 people in Syria, including 38 soldiers and seven Hezbollah members supported by Iran.
