The 39-year-old man who cut the thread of her life with five stab wounds outside the Agioi Anargyroi police station where his former partner fled to seek help was found to be in custody for the murder of 28-year-old Kyriaki.

The investigator and the prosecutor ruled that the perpetrator of the crime, who gave a short apology claiming that he does not remember anything, should be taken to the prison psychiatric hospital.

The 39-year-old offender was brought to the interrogation office after 1 p.m., with bandages on his head due to what doctors say were superficial injuries he inflicted on himself after the crime.

The 39-year-old’s memo on his “serious and chronic mental illnesses”

According to the defendant’s defense, the perpetrator of the murder was unable today to give answers to the judicial officer about what happened on Monday night when he attacked and stabbed his former partner.

So he remained in the interrogation room for a few minutes, where he allegedly told the court official that “I don’t remember what happened. Today I found out that I hurt Sunday”.

However, a memorandum was handed over by his lawyer in which the 39-year-old pleads “serious and chronic mental illness” for which, it is claimed, he has been hospitalised seven times in the last ten years.

As the defendant appears to indicate, he has been diagnosed with serious mental illnesses, as a result of which he has also suffered psychotic episodes.

Based on the 39-year-old’s allegations, the defense is requesting that he be granted either an uncharged or reduced charge.

Among other things, he allegedly claimed, he was treated in private clinics in addition to Dafni and Attikon.

The accused also allegedly claimed that he has been diagnosed with serious mental illnesses, which have caused him to have psychotic episodes.

Furthermore, in his memo he claims that he has been prescribed strong psychotropic drugs, more than 10, and that he has made two suicide attempts. In this context, the defendant requested a reduced or no sentence.

How the murder of 28-year-old Kyriaki was committed

The murderous knife attack by her 39-year-old ex-partner took place on Monday (1/4) just 50 metres from the local police station where Kyriaki had gone to complain that he was bothering her.

The 28-year-old was with another person to make the complaint. When she came out of the police station to call 911 to request a patrol car, that’s when the 39-year-old took the opportunity to attack and stab her, evidence that suggests he had set up a stakeout for her.

After the murderous knife attack, the 39-year-old man self-injured himself in the neck and was taken to the hospital “Georgios Gennimatas” with severe injuries.
