Glyfada: Α man committed suicide – He assaulted his wife and then shot himself on the scene when the police arrived

Yet another tragic incident of domestic violence took place on Friday afternoon in Glyfada where a man committed suicide shortly after assaulting his wife.

Everything unfolded at noon at the entrance of the apartment building on Ikarias street, with the man beating his wife.  A patrol passing by noticed the incident and stopped. The man fled and entered the apartment building. The police had notified to send someone from the police negotiations team on the scene.

Before the negotiator arrived the man managed to shoot himself, resulting in his death. Upon inspection of his vehicle by the Hellenic Police, it was discovered that he had been involved in a hit-and-run accident.

According to information, the man had a criminal record and had been in trouble with the law for robbery as well as drug-related cases.
