Yesterday was a night of tension in the Exarcheia area as a group of hooded men attacked police officers with Molotov cocktails and stones, causing the streets around the square to resemble a battlefield for some time.
Shortly after midnight, a group of about 30 people came out into Exarchia Square and set fire to rubbish bins.
Then, they attacked with Molotov cocktails, stones and stones against a platoon of riot police on Messolonghiou Street, with the police using chemicals and throwing flash-bang grenades in order to drive them away.

The scene of tension was moved to Charilaou Trikoupi Street where the masked men threw stones at an optical goods shop at the junction with Didotou Street, making the window of the business a glass eye-catcher.
Officers did not make any arrests or charges as a result of the incidents.
