The tragedy took place in the early hours on Friday in Eleusina with a 31-year-old losing his life and a 25-year-old injured. According to ERT (Hellenic Broadcasting), the fatal accident happened at the intersection of Kanellopoulou and Mouriki streets near the beach of Eleusina. Initial reports indicate that the accident happened at about 1:30 AM when the car driven by the 31-year-old veered off course for unknown reasons collided with a truck, and overturned.

Thriasio Hospital confirmed the 31-year-old driver perished while the 25-year-old, who was extricated by firefighters, is in critical condition at Tzaneio Hospital. The Coast Guard is conducting an investigation into the traffic accident.
