Alarm sounded in the early hours of Easter Sunday at the Fire Department Operations Center for a fire, which broke out in a fourth-floor apartment of a residential building on 28th October Street, in the area of Agia Paraskevi.

At the scene, 4 fire department vehicles, the specialised armoured vehicle, and 16 firefighters intervened, who brought the fire under control and then began searching for any trapped individuals.

According to information, an elderly person resided in the apartment. Shortly after 8:15 in the morning, it was revealed that a woman was found charred in the living room of the house, who appears to have been trapped in the apartment and did not manage to evacuate in time.
