A Coast Guard rescue team spotted and rescued 47 foreigners on board a dinghy late Wednesday night in the sea area 15 nautical miles south of Gavdos.
The foreigners were transported and landed safely at the port of Sfakia, Crete.
Meanwhile, yesterday the first patrol boat of the L.S.-EL.AKT spotted and recovered two foreigners near the rocky coast of Cape Prassos northeast of Samos.
The foreigners, after being transferred to another patrol boat, were safely transferred to the port of Malagari, where they were handed over to members of the Samos Police Directorate, to be transferred to a Closed Controlled Facility. Preliminary investigation is being carried out by the Samos Port Authority.
Also, in the early hours of yesterday morning, a fishing boat spotted and recovered an alien near the rocky coast of Cape Prassa northeast of Samos.

The immigrant, after being transferred to a rescue boat, was safely transferred to the port of Malagari, where he was handed over to officers of the Samos Police Directorate, to be transferred to a Closed Controlled Facility.
In addition, eight more immigrants were found by members of the Police in the land area “ZODOXOU PEGIS”, who were transferred to a Closed Controlled Facility of Samos. Preliminary investigation is carried out by the Samos Port Authority.
