International Museum Day with free admission and guided tours

Honored for 2024 is the Museum of Contemporary Greek Culture

A crowd of people visited the museums of Athens and the surrounding region today, where admission is free, as May 18th has been declared International Museum Day.

Many chose the Acropolis Museum, which, from morning was flooded with visitors of all ages who came to admire its precious collections. The theme of this year’s celebration is “Museums, Sustainability, and Well-being,” focusing, among other things, on the role of museums as spaces for entertainment, creativity, and socialization for children, elements essential for their well-being and mental health.
