Greece stands out in categories of luxury, sustainability, and facilities suitable for families

Who hasn’t used TripAdvisor when looking for a decent accommodation or a restaurant? It’s a platform with millions of reviews where the travel website gives awards for hotels by category and country.

If someone is looking for a hotel with excellent service, comfortable rooms, all amenities its likely to find it in one of the award-winning places. The Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best award honors the highest distinction of excellence in travel. It’s honoured to those who receive a large number of very positive reviews and opinions by the TripAdvisor community over a 12-month period. Out of our 8 million listings, less than 1% achieve the milestone.

Top hotel in the world

The top-ranked hotel on a global scale is the Hotel Colline de France in the Gramado area of Brazil. It is situated near Porto Alegre and close to the Uruguay border, where it offers a blend of elegance and comfort. Luxurious rooms with L’Occitane amenities, including an Imperial suite, provide a lavish experience. Guests can unwind in the heated pool, spa, sauna, and hammam or exercise in the gym. Live piano music accompanies breakfast, complemented by complimentary sparkling wine. Prices range from 200 to nearly 1,000 euros per night, varying by season and room type.

Greek hotels that stand out 

While there are no Greek hotels in the general category of the world’s top hotels are well-represented in luxury accommodations. The Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best award recognizes excellence in travel based on positive reviews from the TripAdvisor community. Only less than 1% of the 8 million listings achieve this distinction.

The 8th best luxury hotel globally is the Atrium Palace Thalasso Spa Resort & Villas in Rhodes. It offers a range of amenities in rooms, including flat-screen TVs, air conditioning, and minibars, with complimentary internet access.

In the “Family-friendly” category, Porto Sani in Halkidiki ranks 15th globally, with nearly 2,000 reviews. Two Greek hotels are among the top All-Inclusive in the world. Ikos Aria in Kos ranks 10th, and Ikos Oceania in Nea Moudania ranks 14th, both with thousands of reviews.

In the “Wellness” category, the Palladium Boutique Hotel in Platy Gialos, Mykonos, ranks 6th globally, with nearly 2,000 reviews. Lastly, in the “Sustainability” category, the Ikos Odisia in Kato Korakiana, Corfu, ranks 4th globally.
