The brutal robbery that had taken place at dawn on December 17, 2023 at the expense of a man in an area of the municipality of Messolonghi, was solved after investigations by police officers of Security that lasted five months and identified the details of two of the four Greeks who committed it.
At that time, the perpetrators, together with two accomplices who remain unknown, had broken into the victim’s house wearing full-face hoods and work gloves, immobilised him at gunpoint and, after tying him hand and foot with duct tape and gagging him, began beating him to force him to show them where he was hiding money.
The thugs snatched €6,500, jewellery, bank cards, bank books, a shotgun and a mobile phone from the house and rushed away. In investigations carried out at the homes of the two perpetrators in Messolonghi and in an area of Evia, the police officers of the Security Department of Messolonghi and the Department of Difries – Messapia respectively found the stolen mobile phone, while the shotgun was found at a place where the perpetrators had hidden it.
The Security formed a criminal case for robbery that was submitted to the prosecutor of Messolonghi, who filed charges against the two identified perpetrators and their unknown accomplices, the investigations for the identification of which are ongoing.
