Firefighters’ protest rally on 5 June

Currently 35 seasonal firefighters are over 67 years old - Some five-year firefighters may stay on the force until they are 75 years old to retire

Newsroom May 29 02:36

Their tenure in the civil service is among other demands being demanded by five-year firefighters at the protest rally planned by the uniformed members of the Fire Service on Wednesday, June 5 at 11am outside the Ministry of Civil Protection.

The main reason why the 2,350 five-year service firefighters, who are considered along with seasonal firefighters the spearhead of the great summer struggle that has already begun, are demanding to join the public service is the retirement age and their anxiety that they will lose their jobs if the shortages are covered by new recruitments through advertisements.
