It is quite clear, ahead of the upcoming Sunday’s European elections, that the right-wing parties in France holds the lead, with a total movement of around 40%, according to the results of a poll by the French Institute Ipsos published today in Le Monde.

The “National Rally” party of Marine Le Pen is expected to receive approximately 33% of the votes.

There is a battle for the second position, with Emmanuel Macron’s party moving close to 16% and the Socialist Party at 14.5%.

Following them are Jean-Luc Melenchon’s left-wing party at around 8%, the center-right Republicans, at around 7%, the Greens at 6%, Eric Zemmour close to 5% and the Communist Party at around 2%.

According to the same poll, abstention is expected to exceed 50%.

Regarding the younger generations, those under 34 years old, it is estimated that one in three will vote.

The threshold for a party to elect a Member of the European Parliament in France is set at 5%, while parties receiving less than 3% lose the right to reimbursement for their pre-election expenses.
