Gerasimos Papadopoulos: Scientifically, after a seismic recession an upsurge follows – 3 areas with the highest seismic activity

Since October 2021, we have been in a phase of seismic recession, noted Gerassimos Papadopoulos

Newsroom June 3 12:06

Seismologist Gerassimos Papadopoulos discussed seismic activity in Greece following the 4.3 Richter earthquake off the coast of Kythnos on Saturday morning. He estimated that after the current seismic recession period, there will be a period of seismic escalation, stating that “it’s a law that the planet follows.”

“The issue of earthquakes in our country is general, and we experience periods of calm and periods of escalation, such as the period from 2019 to 2021, followed by a recession period from October 2021 until today. There is no doubt that we will have the next period of escalation. That’s a law the planet follows,” Mr. Papadopoulos said on Action24.

When asked about which areas have higher seismic activity, Mr. Papadopoulos referred to the “Central Ionian, the triangle of Lefkada-Zakynthos-Kefalonia, the Corinthian Gulf, the region of the Dodecanese, and the eastern seismic Greek arc.”
