Stefanos Kasselakis: The alibi of 41% is now over, the people have given me the time to build a government proposal

"I have no regrets about anything"

Newsroom June 9 11:55

“The alibi of the 41% is now over,” Stefanos Kasselakis stated in his remarks on the results of the EU elections, simultaneously sending a message within his party that “I have no regrets about anything, the Greek people have clearly given me the time to build an alternative governmental proposal, and that’s exactly what I will do.”

“Thank you very much for these months. We are a party that has been through a lot since the painful double defeat last year. We underwent two divisions until we reached the single ballot chosen by society. And for this reason, members of SYRIZA should be proud of themselves,” initially stated the president of SYRIZA.

“Where others, with huge debts and suspicious funds for advertisements, advisors, and party expenses, against us, who within our means remained ethical as we should, against them, we managed to reduce the difference from 23% to 13%,” he continued regarding the outcome of the European polls.

“The alibi of the 41% is now over, this is a choice of the Greek people, it is a choice that in an election process where the prime minister highlighted a narrative of stability, the people said that there is another choice. This is the first step for a party that is evolving and changing direction. For a new man who came with his purity to bring values.”

“I have no regrets about anything, the Greek people have clearly given me the time to build an alternative governmental proposal, and that’s exactly what I will do. We continue, we modernize, we will build centers of knowledge and contribution. This movement, which despite adverse conditions, has endured, has only to go forward from here. I am proud of everyone,” added Mr. Kasselakis.

“Let’s not forget that we are in an election process that has turned things upside down. Something is not right in Europe. We have a lot of work ahead of us. I am happy for the journey that has begun. We continue with authenticity, the values of the Left, and the gaze on the modern future we want to build for our country,” concluded the president of SYRIZA in his statement.
