Changes in the Government
According to the new government list, 11 ministers and deputy ministers are leaving, four are being transferred to different portfolios, and 11 are either entering the government for the first time or returning, having previously served in ministerial roles during the first term of the New Democracy administration from 2019 to 2023.
Change of hands
Niki Kerameus is taking over the Ministry of Labor, leaving her previous position as Minister of the Interior. The Ministry of the Interior will now be headed by Theodoros Livanios, who was previously a deputy minister in the same department.
It’s worth noting that Mr. Livanios is the only individual being promoted from deputy minister to minister.
Similarly, Vasilis Spanakis will move from Deputy Minister of Labor to Deputy Minister of the Interior.
In the Ministry of Finance, Christos Dimas, who was previously the Deputy Minister of Culture, will take over the role of deputy minister from Haris Theoharis, who is leaving the government.
Who Are Left Out
A total of 11 individuals are left out of the government, including four ministers and seven deputy ministers
- Kostas Skrekas, who held the position of Minister of Development
- Domna Michailidou, leaving the Ministry of Labor
- Dimitris Kairidis, departing from the Ministry of Migration and Asylum
- Lefteris Avgenakis, from the Ministry of Agricultural Development
Similarly, seven deputy ministers are out of the government lineup:
- Haris Theoharis, former Deputy Minister of Finance
- Stathis Konstantinidis, former Deputy Minister of Macedonia/Thrace
- Christina Alexopoulou, former Deputy Minister of Infrastructure & Transport
- Maximos Senetakis, former Deputy Minister of Development
- Maria Kefala, former Deputy Minister of Family
- Stavros Keletsi, former Deputy Minister of Agricultural Development
- Giannis Pappas, former Deputy Minister of Shipping
