Radiologist’s Touching Gesture – Enters CT Scanner with Abandoned Baby

"I felt it was the right thing to have the CT scan together, just as his mother would have done"

Newsroom June 21 01:16

In a remarkable act of compassion, radiologist Efterpi Constantaroianni at the Children’s Oncology Unit, Marianna V. Vardinogianni-Elpida (Hope), accompanied an abandoned infant into a CT scanner when there was no attendant available to immobilize the child.

Constantaroianni shared a poignant photo on Facebook, writing, “I thought it was right, observing the Hippocratic Oath, to take the radiation together, as his mother would have done, if she hadn’t given up, God knows why…!!”

She continued, “I felt the infant was like baby Jesus, as we must see everyone around us. To learn that the heart is filled by giving… and that if there is no love for our fellow man, whatever else we do is useless.”

The Radiologist’s Post

“When you work through pain, all other problems seem insignificant, and you learn to smile from the heart every day!!
