Perry, who appeared in Disney’s fourth installment of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series, was attacked while taking a break from his lifeguard duties near Goat Island on Sunday, as reported by Stab magazine. Local surfers discovered him off Mālaekahana Beach on Oahu’s North Shore, grievously injured, with an arm and leg missing.
Despite swift efforts by emergency responders to bring him ashore and perform resuscitation, Perry succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter. Following the incident, ocean safety personnel promptly erected shark warning signs in the vicinity to alert beachgoers, according to the New York Post.
